  • A. All our coaches are either NCCP-trained or NCCP-certified, with the exception of our CIT’s (Coach in Training). All CIT’s are actively pursuing a GFA (Gymnastics Foundation Artistic) trained status and are receiving mentorship from our senior coaches.

  • A. Recreational gymnastics classes focus on building skills, strength, and confidence in a fun, non-competitive environment. Competitive gymnastics classes are for athletes who want to compete at higher levels, with more training and commitment.

  • A. The competitive gymnastics program is by invitation only. If your child is currently enrolled at North Valley Gymnastics, our coaches are always keeping an eye on our recreational athletes to see who might be a good fit for the competitive team. Invitations are sent out based on these evaluations.

If your child is already a CCP or Xcel gymnast but new to North Valley Gymnastics, we’d love to assess their skills. This helps our coaches get to know your athlete and ensure they’re placed in the right group based on their skill level.

  • A. The CCP (Canadian Competitive Program) is a structured, high-commitment track for gymnasts who want to focus on developing advanced skills and compete at the highest level, typically training 3 or more times a week. Xcel, on the other hand, offers more flexibility, allowing athletes to compete routines tailored to their strengths, with lower training demands and a focus on individualized progression

  • A. Our coaches love connecting with families, but when classes are running, it’s hard for them to give full attention to conversations. With only a 5-minute turnover between classes, they are often busy with attendance, setting up for the next session, and greeting athletes. We kindly ask that you reach out to our Director of Operations and Programming, Angel Gold, at agold@nvgym.com, with any questions, comments or concerns. Your message will be passed on to the coach, and they will respond via email, phone, or by setting up a meeting. For immediate assistance, feel free to contact our administrative staff.

  • A. Drop-off: Please arrive 5-10 minutes before class starts to ensure your child is ready for warm-up. If your child is younger, please stay with them until class begins.

Pick-up: For safety reasons, please come into the gym to pick up your child. We don’t allow younger athletes to leave unaccompanied. You’re welcome to wait in the seating area or mezzanine.

Please note: We cannot accommodate early drop-offs more than 10 minutes before class. Late pick-ups (over 10 minutes) may incur a fee.

  • A. Withdrawals are accepted within the first 2 weeks of a session for a full refund. After this period, refunds are only granted for medical reasons with a doctor's note. A $25 administrative fee applies to all withdrawals, including medical. Refunds will be issued to your credit card or by cheque if paid via e-transfer (cheques are processed monthly). Note that Gymnastics BC insurance fees and credit card processing fees are non-refundable. To withdraw, please contact us.

  • A. If a class is full, you can add your child to the waitlist by selecting the "waitlist" option during registration. If a spot opens, the first person on the list will receive an automated email offer, and you’ll have 24 hours to claim it. If you don’t respond in time, the spot will go to the next person. Be sure to check both your inbox and junk folder to avoid missing the offer! If you’re waitlisted and have questions over the weekend or a holiday, go ahead and book the spot, then email us. We’re happy to help with refunds, cancellations, or proration if needed.

  • A: Late registrations for our recreational CanGym and CanJump badge programs are accepted based on class availability. Late enrollments will be prorated, meaning you’ll only pay for the remaining classes in the session. Classes for ages 5-and-under have an open registration policy.
